Step-by-step setup
Identify your connection type
If your player uses a Server URL, username, and password, its Xtream Codes API may already include EPG data. If you use an M3U playlist or manage a panel, look for a separate XMLTV / EPG source field.
Add the private XMLTV URL
In your player's EPG settings or your panel's EPG manager, paste the complete EPGWise URL. Do not put the URL into a stream or playlist credential field.

Some players read an x-tvg-url attribute in the M3U header; others ask for the XMLTV URL in a separate EPG screen. Use the method your player documents and keep the source URL private.

Save the source, run Update / Refresh EPG if available, and wait for the guide to download. Xtream Codes API users may need to refresh the playlist rather than add a second source.
Match tvg-id to XMLTV channel id
The channel's tvg-id must match the XMLTV channel id for automatic linking. If a channel is blank, use the player's or panel's manual mapping controls and check regional variants.
Xtream Codes is a login format, not the guide itself
Xtream Codes-compatible players can receive a guide through their provider's API, while XMLTV is the portable guide format used for a separate source. The playlist and EPG still need matching channel IDs.
- For M3U, compare each tvg-id with the XMLTV channel id before changing the playlist.
- For a panel, import the XMLTV source first, then map streams and refresh bouquets or packages.
- EPGWise supplies metadata only; it does not create Xtream Codes accounts or provide live streams.
Configuration tips
- Try the .xml.gz URL first; use the plain .xml fallback only when a legacy client cannot decompress gzip.
- Do not expose your EPGWise token alongside Xtream username and password in public support posts.
- If the API guide already works, avoid adding a second source unless you specifically need to fill a documented gap.
Troubleshooting
My Xtream Codes login works but the EPG is blank.
Refresh the playlist and check whether the provider's API includes guide data. If your player supports an external EPG source, add the EPGWise XMLTV URL and then verify tvg-id mapping.
The XMLTV URL loads but programmes are attached to the wrong channels.
The channel IDs do not match. Correct the playlist tvg-id or use the player's mapping screen; matching by a similar channel name can select the wrong country or regional feed.

Does EPGWise replace an Xtream Codes provider?
No. EPGWise is a separate XMLTV programme-guide service. Your authorised Xtream Codes provider remains responsible for the playlist, streams, and login.
Does Xtream Codes always need a separate EPG URL?
No. Many Xtream Codes API logins include guide data automatically. A separate XMLTV URL is useful when you use M3U, manage a compatible panel, or need a guide source your provider does not supply.
Can I use EPGWise with IPTV Smarters and Xtream Codes?
Yes, when the Smarters build exposes a separate EPG field. Add the URL in the profile's EPG settings and keep the Xtream Codes login fields unchanged.
