Plex Media Server includes default postal code guide data, but it frequently suffers from missing specialty channels, inaccurate regional variants, or unsupported countries. Here is how to connect custom XMLTV data to Plex.
⚙️ Step-by-Step Instructions
Open Plex Live TV & DVR Settings
Log into Plex Web as server administrator. Requires an active Plex Pass — Plex Live TV & DVR guide features are only available to Plex Pass subscribers. Open Settings (wrench icon), scroll down to the Manage section in the left sidebar, and select Live TV & DVR.
Choose the XMLTV Guide Option
When adding your tuner (or clicking Set up an XMLTV guide / Guide Source), look at the bottom of the postal code prompt for the text: “Have an XMLTV guide on your server?”. Click it.
Enter Your Private Feed URL
In the XMLTV Guide input box, paste your private EPGWise .xml.gz URL:

Map Tuner Channels to XMLTV Channels
Plex will display two columns: your scanned tuner channels on the left and XMLTV guide channels on the right. For any channel that does not auto-match, select the correct channel name from the dropdown list.
Save & Refresh Guide
Click Continue / Save. Plex will perform the initial guide download. You can trigger manual updates anytime by clicking the three dots (⋮) next to your DVR and selecting Refresh Guide.
