Convert M3U to XMLTV tvg-id

Paste a messy .m3u. We strip UK: / [FHD] / +1 / 1080p, match against 27,243 EPG channels, and inject tvg-id plus 512px tvg-logo so the playlist maps to your XMLTV EPG URL. Export stays an M3U; programme data still comes from the XMLTV feed.

How it works

  1. Your .m3u never leaves your browser — parsing and matching run client-side.
  2. Channel names are normalized (country prefixes, quality tags like FHD/4K, timeshifts like +1) and matched against the live channel index.
  3. Matched channels get a stable EPGWise tvg-id and 512px logo so Jellyfin, Kodi, and similar clients can join the XMLTV guide.
  4. Unmatched channels stay in the playlist untouched — tweak the name and re-match.

Uses the same name normalization as ingest, so ids here match the live XMLTV feed.

M3U and XMLTV questions

Can I convert M3U to XMLTV in the browser?

An M3U file lists channels, not programmes. This studio matches each M3U name to a stable XMLTV tvg-id and logo so your playlist lines up with an XMLTV EPG URL. Programme listings still come from the XMLTV feed, not from the M3U.

Does matching replace a full XMLTV source?

No. Matching fixes channel identity (tvg-id). You still need an XMLTV EPG URL for schedules, such as an EPGWise country feed pasted into Jellyfin, Kodi, TVHeadend, NextPVR, or Plex DVR.

Does my playlist leave the browser?

Parsing and matching run in your browser against the public channel index. The studio does not upload your M3U to the EPGWise account API.
