Kodi PVR IPTV Simple Client (and PVR Simple Client) render the TV guide from an XMLTV URL, not from the M3U playlist. If the guide shows “No information”, paste a gzipped .xml.gz address into the EPG / XMLTV field and cache it locally.
⚙️ Step-by-Step Instructions
Open PVR Add-on Configuration
From the Kodi home screen, click the Settings (gear icon) > Add-ons > My add-ons > PVR clients. Click on PVR Simple Client and select Configure.
Open EPG Settings
In the add-on configuration window, switch to the EPG Settings tab. Ensure the Location is set to Remote Path (Internet address).
Enter Your Private Feed URL
Click XMLTV URL and paste your private EPGWise feed URL:

Enable Local Storage Caching
In the same EPG Settings tab, toggle Cache XMLTV at local storage to ON. This prevents Kodi from re-downloading the entire guide every time you switch screens.
Clear PVR Database to Force Fresh Sync
Click OK to save the add-on settings. Then, to ensure Kodi purges any stale data and builds the fresh database:
- Go to Settings > PVR & Live TV > General
- Scroll down and click Clear data
- Confirm the prompt. Kodi will reload all channels and download fresh EPG listings.
Map Any Unmatched Channels (Optional)
Kodi automatically matches channels by name. If a specific channel displays blank in the timeline, go to Settings > PVR & Live TV > Channels > Channel Manager, select the channel, and choose its matching EPG Source.
Zero Time Drift
Keep EPG time shift (hours) set to 0. EPGWise listings contain explicit UTC offsets that Kodi automatically converts to your local timezone.
Kodi 20 & 21 Multi-EPG Support
Kodi 20 (Nexus) and 21 (Omega) allow adding multiple EPG URLs in PVR Simple Client. You can also create a custom guide from selected country subscriptions and channels in the dashboard.
