How to add an XMLTV EPG source to TiviMate
TiviMate can load guide data from an XMLTV source alongside your playlist. Add the private URL from your EPGWise dashboard as an EPG source to fill in programme titles, times, and descriptions for an existing authorised playlist.
EPGWise feeds provide up to 7 days depending on country and a 7-day free trial where eligible. They are programme metadata only โ no video streams, playlists, panel logins, or content are included.
Step-by-step setup
Open the EPG settings
In TiviMate open Settings โ Playlists, choose your playlist and open EPG sources. Older versions keep this under Settings โ EPG โ EPG sources.
Add your private EPGWise URL
Choose Add source, then paste the complete URL from your dashboard. Keep the token private and do not post it in a screenshot or public forum.
https://epgwise.com/epg/YOUR_TOKEN.xml.gzName the source and save
Continue through the prompts, give the source a name such as EPGWise, and finish. TiviMate downloads the guide in the background; a large country feed can take a minute.
Update the guide
Go back to Settings โ EPG and choose Update EPG. Open the TV guide and check a few channels across different times of day.
Match channels that stay empty
TiviMate matches programmes to channels using the playlist tvg-id and the XMLTV channel id. For a channel that stays blank, open that channel's options and choose its guide channel from the EPGWise source; some channel-editing options need TiviMate Premium.
Why channel matching matters
An XMLTV feed contains schedules, not the channel playlist. TiviMate must match each playlist entry to the same channel id in the feed before it can show the programme guide.
- Keep the playlist tvg-id and XMLTV channel id identical where possible.
- If only a few channels are blank, match those channels instead of replacing the whole source.
- EPGWise supplies guide metadata only; it does not provide M3U playlists, streams, logins, or video content.
Configuration tips
- Use the .xml.gz URL first; TiviMate reads compressed guides. Use the plain .xml URL from your dashboard only if a device cannot.
- If an old provider guide is still showing, remove or disable that EPG source so it cannot overwrite the new listings.
- Keep the device time zone set automatically so programme times are converted correctly.
Troubleshooting
TiviMate shows No information for every channel.
Check that the EPG source finished updating without an error, then confirm the playlist's tvg-id values match the XMLTV channel ids. The EPGWise M3U matcher shows which playlist entries do not match.
The EPG is not updating in TiviMate.
Choose Update EPG under Settings โ EPG and wait for it to finish. If listings still stop at the same day, remove and re-add the source with the current URL from your dashboard, and make sure your subscription is active.
Programme times are an hour or more out.
XMLTV times carry their own time-zone offset, so check the device time zone first. If your TiviMate version has an EPG time shift setting, make sure it is set to zero for the EPGWise source.
TiviMate EPG FAQ
Does EPGWise provide TiviMate channels or a playlist?
No. EPGWise provides private XMLTV programme-guide metadata. You must use a playlist and streams that you are authorised to access.
Which EPG URL should I use in TiviMate?
Use the private .xml.gz URL shown in your EPGWise dashboard, such as https://epgwise.com/epg/YOUR_TOKEN.xml.gz.
Can I use more than one EPG source in TiviMate?
Yes. TiviMate can hold several EPG sources. If two sources cover the same channel, remove or disable the one you no longer want so the listings do not conflict.
